Terms of Service
Last updated: June 21, 2026
Acceptance
By using OnTheField, you agree to these terms, which form an agreement between you and the operators of OnTheField (“we”, “us”). If you don't agree, don't use the app.
Eligibility
OnTheField is intended for coaches and other adults. To create an account you must be at least 13 years old (or 16 where your local law requires a higher age), and you must have the authority and any necessary consent to enter data — including information about players — into the app. If your use is governed by a parent or guardian, that adult is responsible for it.
What OnTheField Is
OnTheField is a free, browser-based tool for building baseball and softball lineup cards. Lineup data is stored locally in your browser by default, and the app works offline without an account. We also offer optional email accounts and cloud sync (covered below), which let you back up and access your teams across devices.
Accounts & Cloud Sync
You may create an optional account using your email address (via a one-time password or magic link). When signed in, your teams sync to our cloud database so you can access them from other devices. Accounts and sync are provided through Supabase.
- You are responsible for keeping access to the email address associated with your account.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- Sync is optional. You may use the app offline, and you can sign out or delete your teams at any time.
- You can close your account and request deletion of your synced data at any time by contacting support@onthefield.app.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
Email Subscriptions
You may choose to provide your email address to join the Pro waitlist or receive feature updates. By subscribing, you agree to receive occasional emails from us related to the purpose you signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email or by contacting support@onthefield.app.
Marketing email addresses are processed by Loops, our email service provider. We do not sell or share your email with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your Data
You own all data you enter into OnTheField — player names, jersey numbers, positions, team names, and lineup configurations. By default it is stored locally in your browser. If you use cloud sync, a copy is also stored in our cloud database and associated with your account.
- Local data is not recoverable if you clear your browser (unless you have synced it to the cloud).
- You can delete synced teams in the app, or request account and data deletion by contacting us.
- You are responsible for backing up any data you care about.
Shared Lineups
When you share a lineup, the data is either encoded into the share link itself or stored on our servers as a short link. Anyone with the link can view and import the lineup. You are responsible for any data you choose to share. We are not liable if shared data is accessed by unintended recipients.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the app for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to disrupt or overload the service
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or create derivative works
- Use automated tools to scrape or access the service
No Warranty
OnTheField is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee the app will be available, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose. Use it at your own risk.
Limitation of Liability
In no event shall the creators of OnTheField be liable for any damages arising from the use or inability to use the app, including but not limited to data loss, lineup errors, or game-day mishaps. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy of any lineup you produce.
Governing Law
These terms and any disputes arising from them or your use of OnTheField will be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where the operators of OnTheField are based, to the extent permitted by applicable local law. Where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply, nothing in these terms limits those rights.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
