Common questions

Where is my lineup saved?

Without an account, your lineup is saved in this browser on this device. Clearing browser data or using private browsing can remove the only local copy. Signing in gives you account-backed sync for teams and saved games.

Can I use OnTheField without internet?

Yes, for local lineup work after the app has loaded or been installed. You can edit and print saved local data offline. Signing in, syncing, and creating server-backed share links need an internet connection.

What happens when I sign in?

Sign-in is optional. An account lets you sync teams and saved games across devices and manage more than one team. Your account and cloud data are separate from sharing a lineup link.

My lineup disappeared. What should I check?

First, return to the same browser and device where you built it. Check that you are not in private browsing and that browser storage was not cleared. If you used an account, sign in again. A local-only lineup cannot be recovered after its browser data is deleted.

How do I print a lineup?

Open the print action in the app and choose a view. OnTheField currently offers Full Lineup, Batting Lineup, Field Positions, Spreadsheet Grid, and Lineup Summary. Your device's browser print dialog controls the printer and paper settings.

How do shared lineups work?

You can share a lineup as a link or copy an import code. Server-backed short links are stored for sharing and expire after about 30 days. Anyone with a working link can view the lineup, so do not share player information you are not authorized to share.

Does Auto-Assign enforce league rules?

No. Auto-Assign uses preferred positions, prior positions, bench time, and position history to suggest a balanced lineup. It does not validate Little League, Cal Ripken, pitching, or mandatory-play rules. Review the result against your league rules before the game.

I did not receive my sign-in code. What should I do?

Check your spam or promotions folder, confirm the email address, and request a new code. If the message still does not arrive, email support with the browser and device you used.

Still stuck?

Email support@onthefield.app with a short description of the problem. If the app shows an error report action, use that first so we receive the technical details with your report.
